Welcome to the AIDSPirit USA website. Our organization is dedicated to providing hope and life essentials for communities affected by HIV in Billings, Montana and Kayunga, Uganda.

TOM JACQUES • CHAIRMAN, director

Tom has served as the Chairman of AIDSpirit USA and Director of Tender Mercies since the fall of 2007. His career in sales and marketing spans over 35 years, focusing primarily on developing environmental safety and health programs that reduce the carbon footprint of US companies. He is the father to six children, and the grandfather to twenty-three grandchildren, loving any amount of time he can spend with his family. His passion for making a difference and helping people, coupled with his business and marketing experiences, serve to enhance the efforts of AIDSpirit USA. He most enjoys the time he gets to spend with our children in Uganda, as well as the many young people our organization works with, through groups such as Key Club International.

CHARLES WALAKIRA• HEADMASTER

As Headmaster of our Tender Mercies orphanage for the last five years, Charles has grown our home in Kayunga to be a safe place for children orphaned in the Kayunga District, and helped to organize our education sponsorships for 65+ students. Having been raised in the Buggoge Village of Kayunga, he learned from an early age how children that are raised in abusive environments grow to be resilient adults when given the proper resources, and he has modeled that understanding for our children in the most compassionate manner possible. With his wife, known as Mama Mary, three biological children, and 27 more children, Charles continues to work with local government, police forces, and social services to advocate for the well-being of Kayunga's youth.

MORGAN DITTO • SECRETARY

Morgan  brings an excited and passionate personality to the table, eager to work with a group of people she has admired for 5 years now. As the previous Executive Director of the Yellowstone AIDS Project (YAP), Morgan is able to provide new ideas and technological structure for a growing grass roots organization. When asked about her work with YAP, Morgan replied “I loved being able to inspire others by setting the example for change, and what it would take to make an impact, however large or small, in the community and in the lives of those I care about." Now a part of Kinetic Agency, a fast-growing, strategic marketing firm in Billings, Morgan is always full of energy that helps our Board, as well as our staff in Uganda.

maribeth habeck • treasurer

Maribeth has been intimately involved with AIDSpirit USA for over fifteen years. Starting as a meal provider for our Meal Partnership program, she cooked nearly a thousand meals for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS in the Billings community. She is the mother of two sons, one an engineer, and the other an artist. Maribeth and her husband Bob are environmentalists/naturalists who have developed their 1.5 acres into an urban wildlife sanctuary. Their land serves as a piece of secluded paradise in an area of town within walking distance to banks and hospitals, pushing the community to think about conservation. Maribeth has volunteered with Family Promise for ten years, providing transitional shelter for families in need of housing. She now serves as Treasurer for the AIDSpirit USA Board of Directors, providing us with more help than we could ever thank her for!

He is the father of four grown sons, and the grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters. Lawrence and his wife were in the Peace Corps in Yemen from 1976-78, where he developed his passion for volunteering at the international level.
